Users Reviews
Listed below are 3 good reviews and 3 bad reviews for the Logitech Astro A50 Wireless Gaming Headset.
Each Review is from actual owners of the Astro A50 wireless headset.
Good Reviews
(1) The headphones pair perfectly with my Xbox Series S, providing a seamless connection every single time. I’ve never encountered a single glitch in the connection process. The longevity of the battery is unparalleled to anything I’ve used before. Plus, the comfort level is top-notch. I can have them on for prolonged periods without experiencing any discomfort. This is an exceptional product, and I would suggest it to everybody.
(2) I invested in a pair of Razer Nari headphones, but they failed me within just a week. I then switched to the more affordable SteelSeries Arctis 9x, which turned out to be futile as they had continuous connectivity issues. Eventually, I took a leap of faith and purchased these… These headphones outperform their advertised features and expectations. They offer comfort, well-crafted design and have a lightweight attribute that makes wearing them a breeze. The ear cups do not induce sweatiness around your ears, the sound reproduction is fantastic, and the microphone delivers clear audio without any latency. I understand that they are priced steeply for gaming headphones, but believe me, if you’ve been mulling over buying them, they are worth every penny. You won’t have any regrets.
(3) These headphones are my best performers. I appreciate the capability to tailor the audio to my preferences via the app. Their somewhat modular design allows for an effortless exchange of ear and headband pads.
The audio quality they provide is deeply satisfying and all-encompassing, particularly when paired with the Mod pack. The construction is robust and dependable. While the microphone may not be top-tier, it serves my needs adequately, given that I’m not pursuing a broadcasting career. My voice comes across clearly to others.
A feature I am particularly fond of is the charging capability that eliminates the need for additional cords.
I’ve had no problems operating these with my PC or Xbox.
Bad Reviews
(1) Operating both an Xbox series x and a PC setup, I was on the hunt for a headset compatible with both. I’ve always been keen on owning a high-end headset, particularly Astros, ever since I became interested in gaming. After managing to save up a considerable amount, I finally purchased my very first Astros headset and was thrilled to give it a try. However, my experience so far has been largely unsatisfactory. For a price range of $250-$300, top-notch quality should be a given. Instead, what I received was nothing short of disappointing:
- The headband frequently misaligns itself
- The headset fails to connect with the base station
- The microphone’s performance is mediocre at best
- The audio quality is average
- The base station remains active even when devices are not in use
- The LED light dims noticeably
- There is a constant buzzing noise when any form of aux is in use
Effectively, all the rudimentary features one expects are subpar. In less than a year, the headset has become inoperable. Despite countless hours spent searching for ways to fix the issue, I have yet to find a solution. Even the support team seems at a loss about how to rectify the problem. If only I had opted for a return when I had the chance. I’ve resolved never to consider an Astro product in the future.
(2) This marks the second time I’ve encountered a malfunction with Astros. I attempted to address a synchronization problem with my A50s by connecting it to my computer for an update. However, the moment I initiated the update, it rendered my headset inoperable.
When I tried to use my A40s (which has a battery that depletes in just an hour), it caused the base station to fail almost instantly.
I would highly advise against purchasing these. The headset is uncomfortable, causing discomfort to your head when used. The design of the charging station is markedly subpar. Additionally, the battery lifespan decreases at an alarming rate.
While the sound quality is exceptional, for a $300 price tag, one would anticipate them to function properly for at least a year!
I can only give one star for the superior sound quality. Everything else earns no stars at all.
(3) The sound quality is phenomenal, with Dolby Atmos enhancing the spatial audio, yet it’s not without its share of technical glitches. Engaging in Raids like those in games such as Escape from Tarkov can disrupt communication channels when employing Discord. The issue, for some unexplained reason, has particularly impacted Astros across various models over the years. This problem has been a persistent annoyance for me, specifically with the Astro A50’s. I possess multiple headsets, including those from Turtle Beaches, and I’ve never encountered similar glitches with them. Only Astro models seem to exhibit this glitch, based on my personal experience.
For a headset that costs $300, one would expect freedom from such issues, but disappointingly, even after several years, Astro hasn’t managed to rectify the problem. I tried seeking assistance and contacted Astro regarding this problem, only to be left with an expensive headset marred by bugs. This leaves you in constant suspense about when your microphone might stop working during critical gaming scenarios.
If it weren’t for the outstanding audio output, I wouldn’t hesitate to rate it a 0/5 stars for being an overly expensive and bug-ridden headset. I wouldn’t suggest these for serious gamers who require a reliable means of team communication.
