Introduction
The Asus Vivobook 17X with the 2.6 GHz core_i9 is a great performer for gaming and non-gaming activities. This laptop came with windows 10 but has been updated to windows 11. This laptop came with the Intel i9 processor with a memory speed of 3.9GHz, 24GB of ram and 1TB of storage. This is the 17.3″ monitor version. It has dual speakers with Asus AI noise canceling audio, extra large TouchPad and Asus wifi master for a super fast wifi connection.

SETUP
Setting up the Asus Vivobook 17X was a headache. The headache came mainly from all the windows functions that they try to push on you. It’s a shame that a internet connection is needed just to connect many computers these days. Setting up seems a lot like cellphones these days.
You have manufacturers applications and OS manufacturers that both create the same type of application and of course, they push like crazy to get you to install and setup their application. And of course, many times you may only need one function but you have to install a handful of programs in order to use the one you need. Gone are the days of just taking it out of the box, powering a laptop on and doing what you want.
Gaming
The AsusVivobook 17X Laptop does great for the games that play. I do use a triple screen setup for my FPS games and for my racing games. Also I use a Edifier MG300 sound bar for sound when I need that extra loudness. Most of the time though I end up having to use my Logitech G535 headset.
The i9 processor and the Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics does great at keeping everything moving and I have not experienced any screen freeze, overheating or sudden mishaps that require a reboot.
Screen Time
The Asus Vivobook 17X Laptop has an excellent screen with clear and vibrant colors. It comes with the 180° lay-flat hinge that I haven’t really had a reason to use and not really sure why I would. I haven’t had any issues with viewing the screen from the sides. Now of course I haven’t been out in direct sunlight trying to play my games, but as for in the house with overhead lights and lamps on the picture quality is great.
The downside for the screen is that it comes with the 60Hz display. I really wish it had a 144Hz but the 60Hz works for the gaming I play.
The Asus Vivobook 17 Conclusion
The Asus Vivobook 17X Laptop does great for my gaming with excellent screen viewing and sound quality. Even if I wasn’t using a triple screen setup and the sound bar, I would still be happy with the laptop’s performance on its own. Other than gaming, the Vivobook 17X does an awesome job performing task of everyday use like working on my website, emailing and social media.
