The XPG Slingshot
Overview
The XPG Slingshot is one of our budget gaming mice picks. It is a product of the XPG sub-brand of ADATA, a company known for its memory and storage devices. Recently, XPG has been branching out into the gaming peripheral market, offering a budget gaming mouse for gamers with the Slingshot eSports mouse. Between the design and performance it makes sense that the XPG Slingshot is definitely worth being on our list of one of the best budget gaming mice on the market.
Design
The Slingshot sports a classic six-button design with two main clickers, a scroll wheel, a center button for switching DPI presets, and two side buttons. It also features two RGB lighting elements, one under the palm rest logo and the other in the scroll wheel. Both are standard placements for lighting in gaming mice.
Performance
Despite its wallet-friendly price, the Slingshot is not a slouch when it comes to performance. Its light weight, owed to its eSports-inspired honeycomb design, makes it ideal for long gaming sessions. Under the hood, it features a PixArt PMW 3360 sensor, which can track at up to 12,000dpi and stays accurate until just over 250 inches per second (ips).

The Cooler Master MM720
Overview
The Cooler Master MM720 is a gaming mouse that does not aim to reinvent the wheel. Instead, it builds on the blueprint of Cooler Master’s past successful models, the Spawn and Xornet mice, and offers nearly all the features a typical gamer would expect from a gaming mouse.
Design
The MM720 is compact and lightweight, making it similar to other gaming mice like the HyperX Pulsefire Haste. Besides the standard left and right-click buttons and the scroll wheel, it also features two buttons on its left side, a button underneath for cycling through DPI settings, and a dedicated finger rest on the right for gamers who prefer a claw grip.
Performance
The MM720 doesn’t skimp on advanced features. It offers seven preset DPI levels with a maximum of 16,000dpi. It also uses an optical encoder for more accurate and responsive scrolling. The mouse is also equipped with a 6-foot long USB Type-A braided cable that complements its nimble movement.
Reviews
I really like this mouse i have smaller hands so it works great for me, one thing that i love/ hate about this mouse if the DPI button being at the bottom, I love that its out the way however under certain circumstances if I press hard on the mouse it changes it at the worse time, I realize this could just be me being a caveman playing certain games but just wanted to share. Aside from that I love this thing!

Comparing The XPG Slingshot vs Cooler Master MM720
Design
When it comes to design, both budget gaming mice differ significantly. The XPG Slingshot goes for a more traditional gaming mouse look, while the Cooler Master MM720 adopts a more compact and claw-grip-friendly design.
Performance
In terms of performance, both budget gaming mice are pretty similar as they both offer a high DPI range. However, the XPG Slingshot’s sensor accuracy at high speeds is lower compared to the MM720.
Verdict Of The XPG Slingshot vs Cooler Master MM720
Choosing between the XPG Slingshot and Cooler Master MM720 ultimately boils down to personal preference and specific gaming needs. If you’re after a traditional gaming mouse design with standard features and don’t mind a slightly lower sensor accuracy, the XPG Slingshot could be your ideal pick. However, if you’re a fan of the claw grip and want a mouse that offers high sensor accuracy and smoother scrolling, the Cooler Master MM720 might be the better choice.
In the world of budget gaming mice, both the XPG Slingshot and Cooler Master MM720 prove that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a quality gaming mouse. Whether you choose the Slingshot or the MM720, both options offer good value for their respective price points, making them worthy considerations for any budget-conscious gamer.
My Personal Verdict
While both of these budget gaming mice have great features, designs and awesome prices, I give the Cooler Master MM720 the win for the best gaming mouse of the two. Its features out perform the Slingshot. The MM720 glides smoother across the pad and has more setting for different types of usage, feels better in the hand and I personally like the claw type grip with the finger rest.
